beginings and endings

first blog post, can't believe how long it took me to find this again lol.
think the new puppy is gonna end up being called squeak.  just seems to be the best fit.

the insurance adjuster guy got here today, he was nice to talk to, hope it means all the previous runaround i got is over with now.
background - i wrecked my pickup DEC 27- it is totaled so i have been without transportation except my feet for 9 days.  would not be so bad but i cannot haul the water trailer on foot.  friends and family have been good to come by and take us to get water every few days but that is a pain for them and us as it never can be arranged to be at a time that doesn't involve everyone changing schedules to fit.  and since i never know when the next load will be here water conservation is at max-  things like melting snow to flush toilet.  sponge bath instead of a shower but that is going to change in the morning i can't stand myself anymore- even with a stuffy nose .   last load that came in they limped in the last mile on a flat tire then got the trailer stuck in the mud, Doug got the tractor to run long enough to get it moved up the hill to where we can reach it with a sub pump to unload it this evening after work.  tractor barely running so still can't move the big bales of hay out to the pens to feed.  main herd is in the front yard makes keeping an eye on all the soon to lamb or kid girls easy but just try to do anything out there and you cannot believe how helpful 60+ critters underfoot are.   moving hay on foot is also not working well, we are using up the few small bales we had way to fast.  meanwhile the big bales sit in the stack yard waiting for the tractor to get fixed so they can be moved to the pens where they are needed.
on a positive note i got the crochet project i had committed to do finished up and washed and blocked -drying now so be ready to mail out in a couple days.
found a reasonable priced source for some wool i have wanted to try spinning for a while and ordered a couple pounds. Colombian which i have had before and loved how it spun up, and bfl which i have not had but have heard so much good stuff about i wanted to see what it is like.
one of the Barbados ewes we bought in august is making a bag so hope that means she was bred when we got her .  will know when she lambs hoping for twin rams so i can 'steal' one to bottle raise and have a tame ram.  the one we had was so wild i don't want another like that.  looks like a couple of the goats are filling bags too so hope we have kids soon .
endings well i miss my little truck it has been my faithful transportation for 19 1/2 years  after that long it is almost like family.
